  • Banana 103791476 103485432 : or should i say, it serves like FD, every day give dividend from the money market fund, the question is, is there a possibility to lose money in these fund?

  • Moomoo Lily : Dear Client:

Your holding in Maybank Retail Money Market-I Fund did not incur an actual loss on August 28th. The negative return is because the fund has paid monthly dividend of 0.0017 per unit on that day, so the net asset value (NAV) of the unit decreased by 0.0016 to 1.0125 on August 27 from 1.0141 of the previous day.The dividend amount will be paid to your account on August 30, you can check the exact amount of the dividend from APP-[Account]-[Funds]-[Assets in Transit]. to check the cash dividend amount.

By subtracting the amount of dividend per unit and the decrease in NAV per unit, you can calculate that the NAV per unit of the fund actually increased by 0.0001 on that day, which is a positive gain. You can view Invested 10k Return on the details page for this fund, no actual loss occurred on August 28 after accounting for the dividend amount.
