Why go short?

$QuantumScape (QS.US)$ QS is the second most shorted stock after Nvidia. If there is usually no bullish news, this is easy to understand. But what's the situation now? QS has experienced a long period of downturn, with the stock price repeatedly hitting new lows. At that time, those who were shorting QS joked that "QS is a swan song", and it is estimated that many retail investors couldn't bear it, and began cutting their losses and exiting. As a result, when the QS stock price exceeded 8 dollars, those who were trapped had already left, reducing much of the selling pressure above. This leaves only the short positions. Looking at today's trend, it is clearly better than when the news was announced yesterday, so the short positions must be feeling uncomfortable. When short positions become the fuel, the QS stock price will definitely continue to rise. 8 dollars is only the issuance price of the stocks issued last year. The recent cooling of CPI and the expectation of the Fed's interest rate cuts will also be bullish for small cap stocks. VW has already made its stance clear, and QS is still awaited by another 5 car companies. Wishing all investors good luck.
