Why sell when dividends is coming?
$ST Engineering (S63.SG)$ i thought when its near dividend date the stock will usually rise? only after when its after then will drop, but why for ST its different?

♤方展博♤ : Either you trade or you invest. Dividend is for long term investment. Trade Dividend paying stock doesn't mean you WANT that Dividend payout.
Furore : Yesterday is the last day to get the dividends if you bought the shares. Today is the ex-date, which is why it dropped today. But the crap thing is, the drop in price is more than the dividends paid. Might as well sell yesterday and buy today.
