10baggerbamm : you do realize that when you get a margin call if you don't have the sufficient Capital to bring into your account that the amount of stock that is liquidated is 3 and 1/3 the amount of the call.. so for example if you have a $1,000 margin call that's due Friday at 1:00 p.m. and you don't have the money's received by then to the account the margin department sells at Market 330% of the cash value of whatever stock is in your portfolio and they don't care what stock it is and you have no say so you either bring in cash you make the decision to sell the stock of your choosing so that the call is satisfied or the margin clerk sells anything in your account at market price not worrying about tax consequences anything like that to satisfy the call
