Will VinFast overtake BYD to be 2nd most valuable EV stock?
VinFast had an impressive IPO debut. It became the 3rd most valuable EV stock. Can it overtake BYD?
VinFast, like Lucid and Rivian are loss- making. Are there other similarities?
Lucid
Similar to VinFast, Lucid also merged with a SPAC to list on Nasdaq in July 2021. Its price surged and at one time was USD70 b, making it the 3rd most valuable EV stock at that time.
Lucid's price eventually crashed about 90% from its ATH.
Rivian
Rivian's IPO debuted in Nov 2021. Its market cap rose to around USD160 b, making it the 2nd most valuable EV stock at that time.
Rivian's stock plunged > 80% from its ATH.
VinFast is likely to meet the same fate.
Good luck to the person who thinks it will overtake BYD in market cap.
