- Black Myth: Wukong is out today and it’s already storming up the charts. On Steam, the game has skyrocketed to a peak concurrent player count of almost 1.5 million players, which is coming remarkably close to threatening the spot held by Counter-Strike 2, with a record of 1.8 million concurrent users.

- Developed by Shenzhen-based studio Game Science which is backed by Tencent Holdings, the much-anticipated game was released for Windows and Sony PS 5, and bears the industry’s informal AAA classification which signifies a large-budget, high-profile game produced and distributed by well-known publishers.

- A set of 10,000 physical copies of the deluxe edition cost 1,998 yuan (US$276) each, which includes online access to the game and souvenirs, were made available on ecommerce JD.com where total pre-orders reached 160,000 within a few hours, making the promotional package 16 times oversubscribed.
