Lawsuits have been filed against weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy, alleging that the manufacturer failed to warn patients of serious side effects:
Ozempic
Lawsuits claim that Ozempic can cause severe gastrointestinal problems, intestinal blockages, vision loss, and death. The first Ozempic lawsuit was filed in August 2023, and a class action lawsuit could be filed as early as summer 2024.
Wegovy
Lawsuits claim that Wegovy failed to warn patients about serious side effects. For example, one woman filed a lawsuit after being hospitalized and diagnosed with gastroparesis following regular injections of Wegovy.
Semaglutide drugs
A study published in July 2024 suggests that semaglutide drugs, such as Wegovy, may increase the risk of eye strokes called non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION).
Lawsuits against weight loss drugs may cover compensation for: medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
72553206 : Damn, you’ve earned a follow my dude. I appreciate the heads up.
OptionsKing OP 72553206 : It's nice that it popped higher, but it's not going to save their business. model. Operah resigned a month back. Probably did not want her name on this moving forward
Bartholomew Harner : It's going back to $0.75 or lower because you don't need another middleman like WW to take their cut if you take the weight loss shots. These lawsuits are par for the course and just lawyers cashing in where they can. They won't even dent the profits of the manufacturers. These drugs are never leaving the market because anyone who can shell out a few hundred bucks is all but guaranteed to lose 30 lbs in a couple of months with little to no effort. Basically a miracle in a shot. They can have side effects, but fewer with Tirzepatide than with Semaglutide. I have yet to meet anyone who says the results weren't worth it.
