Xiaomi delivered 135,000 vehicles in 2024, with a delivery target of 300,000 in 2025

Xiaomi delivered over 135,000 vehicles in 2024, and the delivery target in 2025 is 300,000 units, the company founder and CEO Lei Jun said during the New Year's Eve broadcast.

Jun also revealed that 30% of Xiaomi car buyers place their orders directly online without a test drive. Xiaomi doesn't use the traditional dealership model but sells cars directly to the customers. Xiaomi Auto opened 200 stores in 58 cities across China in 2024, Jun concluded.

Xiaomi announced its car-building ambitions in Mar 2021. Three years later, in Mar 2024, Xiaomi launched its first vehicle, an all-electric SU7 sedan. It sold out for the rest of the year in 24 hours following the launch.

Xiaomi's initial delivery target in 2024 was 100,000 units, but the company increased it as production ramping in its Beijing factory went better than expected. The Xiaomi EV plant has an annual production capacity of 150,000 units in the first phase and another 150,000 units after the second phase expansion, bringing the total capacity to 300,000 annually.

Xiaomi SU7 is a Tesla Model 3 rival that starts at 215,900 yuan (29,570 USD) in China. It is a nearly 5-metre-long sedan with a 3-metre wheelbase. The entry-level variant has BYD's LFP battery with 73.6 kWh capacity, which is good for a 700 km CLTC range.

The top trim level SU7 Max has a 101 kWh NMC battery from CATL, which is good for 800 km. It stores electricity for two e-motors with a combined power of 495 kW (664 hp) and 838 Nm peak torque.

Xiaomi has two launches planned for 2025. In Mar, the company will launch the SU7 Ultra, a sports version of the SU7 sedan with 1.526 hp and a peak torque of 1,770 Nm. The EV promises to accelerate to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and 200 km/h in 5.86 seconds.
