Trytosaveabit OP Jaguar8 : Think about that! At closing the price was 9 give or take. So the div at that point was more than 50%! I thought I read it wrong and it was supposed to be for preferred stock? Hehehe. But nope it’s for common stock!

Arrayfunction : I don't quite understand this. After the payout, the shares are going to drop by the value of the dividend payment anyway right? Even after the share price jumped, it will still amount to them giving away half their capital from the shares
Is this the equivalent of a company's last ditch effort to pump the stock to get capital? I have heard of death spiral bonds before, but not anything like this.
Trytosaveabit OP Arrayfunction : The price does usually drop after a div is payed yes! But the amount of drop can vary greatly depending on the company! Apparently the company feels this is a better way to instill investors confidence in the company’s determination to show they have the investors interest even more than doing a buyback!

Arrayfunction : I don't know. This company sets off more and more alarm bells the more I look into it. Something strange is going on here.
I don't know if they actually have any business operations going on. They have virtually no revenue - but still managed to get "net income" somehow?
They report the income primarily from discontinued activity - so it's not going to be around for next quarter reporting....
They also have virtually no assets outside of the stock price. I don't get it. If they were hoping private equity would swoop in and fire sale everything, they would need to have assets to some meaningful degree for that to happen.
