Waymo, a driverless subsidiary of Alphabet (GOOGL.O), said on Tuesday that so far this year, the company has provided online ride-hailing riders with more than 700,000 fully autonomous driving trips, and the business has performed well even as concerns about the safety of autonomous vehicles have increased.
Waymo's official account posted on X, “Thank you to Waymo One passengers who have completed more than 700,000 fully automated trips so far this year!”
Waymo's Chief Product Officer Saswat Panigrahi also added: “There's still a lot of work to be done to safely expand our technology, but we're excited to welcome more passengers in more places in 2024.”
Currently, there are more and more questions about autonomous driving technology in the market.
