US semiconductor giant Intel is reportedly focusing strategically on acquiring orders from major tech companies like NVIDIA and Broadcom to revitalize its struggling semiconductor foundry business. This was highlighted by Timothy Arcuri, an Analyst at Swiss investment bank UBS, in a memo to investors, stating that Intel's cutting-edge process, '18A', and its derivative technologies will be key to the success of this strategy.
Aiming to acquire large clients with the cutting-edge process '18A' as a Weapon.
According to Arcuri's analysis, Intel is currently encouraging the use of its foundry services by NVIDIA, which leads the AI Chip market, and Broadcom, known for network equipment and semiconductor design, and is in the final stages of preparing for contract agreements. Particularly regarding NVIDIA, it is seen as getting closer to adopting Intel's technology compared to Broadcom.
At the core is the cutting-edge manufacturing process "18A" that Intel is developing. This is an indicator of transistor miniaturization, and the name "18A" comes from "18Å (angstrom)", meaning 1.8nm.
