According to sources cited by FT, the proposal by the group led by former Tesla outside director Hiromichi Mizuno is supported by former Prime Minister Suga and Hiroto Izumi, who was an assistant during Suga's administration.
Since Tesla is believed to desire to acquire NISSAN's factory in the USA, the group expects Tesla to become a strategic investor.
