日経平均は寄り付きから上げ幅を拡大し、高値圏でもみ合いとなっている。現在は、前営業日比約７７０円高の３万９４００円近辺で推移している。一時、８７０円超高となる場面もあった。指数寄与度の大きい銘柄群やハイテク株の一角がしっかりで、相場を押し上げている。業種別では、国内金利の上昇を受けて金融株が堅調。
ただ、日本株は堅調さを維持しているものの、上げ幅をどんどん広げる展開とはなっていない。ドル／円は朝方からやや円高方向に振れ、１４８円台半ばで推移しており、「為替の円安余地が少なくなり、日経平均が一段高となるかは不透明」（国内運用会社・ポートフォリオマネージャー）との指摘が聞かれた。
