I think both have their pros and cons. For me, I prefer lump sum investing.
Lump sum investing is good when you do not really care about the market or look at the charts frequently.
Dollar cost average is good when one is very emotional and easily affected by market conditions.

I am currently invested in SPY and QQQ which track the S&P500 and Nasdaq index. I am invested in these ETFs because I believe that the 2 indexs will continue to compund and grow in the future.

I’m mainly invested in stocks. For the month of October, my stocks generated negative returns. However, I’m not concerned and my strategy is to continue to hold onto the stocks in my portfolio and buying when the stocks drop a lot. Like AAPL which is my biggest gain in my portfolio. I will continue to hold them for the long term.
