In my previous post, I showed my 2024 P/L – seemed all roses right? Wrong, it’s actually been a mega roller coaster. I’ve been actively investing for over 3 years, starting with a small capital with the occasional DCA. Since I started when the markets were going down in 2022, I am usually more pessimistic in nature. But this year truly took the cake in testing my conviction, both in myself and the companies I bought shares in.

$SoFi Technologies (SOFI.US)$ this is like a daily atm for my day trade account. Buy dip around $10.80 and realise profit above $11. I'm holding a core position for long term.

The latest job report came in much much stronger than expected.
It’s quite a reassuring report for the market to digest as it appears that the labour market is holding up well.
There’s no need for a 50 bps cut in the next FOMC meeting it seems.

The FOMC meeting minutes that was recently on Wed showed that the Federal Reserve is very open to lower rates in the upcoming month.
A majority of them indicated that loosening the monetary policy would be appropriate if inflation data continued to come in as expected.
To me, the minutes were similar to what Powell has shared during his post FOMC meeting press conference. The market was just looking for some form of confirmation.

Megacap tech stocks continued their decline on Tuesday. To make things worse, Microsoft’s earnings didn’t seem to impress investors and we are seeing further sell off after trading hours. Their earnings appear to be dragging down Meta, Google, Snap etc.
On a side note, AMD’s earnings is pulling Nvidia up. Nvdia has been falling for a while. Let’s see if it can stop its rot
