In March this year,  Alibaba increased its stock buyback from USD 15 billion to USD 25 billion.   This new stock buyback is the largest ever in Alibaba's stock buyback scheme.
Alibaba 's share price jumped almost 9% when this buyback program was announced.
With stock buyback,  Alibaba creates more value for shareholders as it can increase earnings per share.   It also shows that the company is profitable and has good cash flow too.
