I believe in long term investment only for companies I believe have long term future, simple as that. That means I won’t be bothered with the noise in the short term or even market crashes. A company or stock that has long term future will outperform over time and appreciation in value will be the reward for the patient.
For me it’s called investment in the future of the company and receiving the reward for being a loyal supporter. philosophical this is different from trading where traders only focus on making money out of the price action of the stock of the company.

Is this the year that digital assets went mainstream? Venture capital funds have poured about $30 billion into crypto, or more than in all previous years combined for the little more than decade-old technology. That's almost quadruple the previous high of around $8 billion in 2018.
As you can see, some firms have bet more on crypto. But is it an ideal choice for every retail investor?
The 5% rule of investing is a general investment philosophy that suggests an investor allocate no more than 5% of their portfolio to one investment security—especially those risky assets like crypto.
Do you agree or disagree with the 5% rule?
Did you put more money into any crypto-currency this year?

I started using Moomoo just to check out the world of stocks, not wanting to spend any own money as I was too scared and I not little ideas of how to pick good stocks. The free APPL $Apple (AAPL.US)$ stock given by Moomoo was a great encourager to try buying at least cheap stocks to see how it all works since even if I lose I can just sell off my precious 1 share of $Apple (AAPL.US)$ at $145 which was the price when I received the stock. I started to then build up my portfolio and adding more stocks like $NIO Inc (NIO.US)$ $Kaixin Holdings (KXIN.US)$ and other biotech Pharma stocks some actually did really well as I bought them at the bottom and did cost averaging as it went down like $Axsome Therapeutics (AXSM.US)$ which I achieved at least 39% profit😁😁. other stocks I picked up didn’t do quite so well today but had potential to fly the moon before the recent slump. I learning that this roller coaster 🎢 ride will have its ups and downs so I will hang on to see that high in due time! anyways it been a great learning experience with Moomoo without which I will still be standing outside in the world of investing. thank you Moomoo

America's billionaires have unloaded $42.9 billion in stock through the start of December, more than double the $20.2 billion they sold in all of 2020, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Why are billionaires selling off their stocks?
One plausible explanation is that this is how they plan to pay their upcoming tax bills in the new year.Last month, the House of Representatives passed a superwealth surtax of 5% on income over $10 million and 3% more if it tops $25 million.
The surtax — which would take effect in 2022 and still has to make it through the Senate — applies to capital gains, meaning cashing out stock holdings would be pricier. In other words, billionaires have two more weeks to save up to 8% on their tax bills.
Another factor driving sales is that the Fed has to step in to cool down the overheated economy with tapering, could billionaires be selling off their stocks at the “top” before a market crash?
Also, billionaires could have a variety of personal reasons for selling now, including funding charitable endeavors, like Jeff Bezos.
Mooers, what do you think about the recent billionaire selloffs?
