If the company is a fundamentally a strong one, then I am vested and will try to block out the noise. Otherwise, I may rebalance my portfolio if there are better options. It is Important to know what is your purpose of getting a particular stock.

My first investment would be stocks to be kept for long term such as reits and etf. At the same time, I am also in the look out for growth stocks which are fundamentally sound. This will ensure that my portfolio has a balance mix of safer as well as more aggressive stocks.

My biggest mistake was to follow others advice without doing my own research. If we were to follow others blindly, we could be buying on speculation that the price will keep going up. Always do our own research first before we make any decision.

I started short-term trading last year during the early part of the year. It is something which was done not just by adopting TA but also doing research into the background of the companies and the industries involved. I relied on existing circumstances, TA, FA, close monitoring and reading of market sentiments. Here is my version of short-term trading philosophy: Be brave and have faith when others are fearful (sounds familiar?). We can all learn from one another!

In this pandemic, it offers us both opportunities and risks. Lockdown, working from home and HBL have not always been easy. However, we must learn to adapt and look on the bright side.
