Not enough judgment on policy; I've scoured the bottom $TENCENT(00700.HK)$   $BABA-SW(09988.HK)$ &  $MEITUAN-W(03690.HK)$ Although they are still confident about the future of these companies, their future underlying investment logic and profit model may have changed dramatically. The valuation is cheap now but it will probably be cheaper in the future 💸

2021 in Review: Grow Together to the Moon!
When can I get the vaccine? One of the most-searched questions on Google indicates people's biggest worry in 2021. However, it's an entirely different story for vaccine stocks holders. Sometimes they want the market sentiments to be different because they found that the line in the cases-versus-price graph increases exponentially.
Instead of getting vaccinated, investors stared at news channels. They tried to find the next catalyst for a strong momentum of growth. Are they speculating? Yes, they are. Maybe you'd like to join them if you look at the cost-benefit ratio or the daily performance of the trending vaccine stocks.
Anyway, I sincerely hope that the vaccines will be enough for every mooer. Sufficient supply also indicates healthy cash flows... Oh, I mean, the virus might stop spreading if most of us are vaccinated.
We also hope that the vaccine stocks could become value stocks with solid business models and stable cash flows one day. In that case, there will be no need for us to be on tenterhooks all day, waiting for monthly job reports or the infection numbers anymore.
Well, unless you enjoy the extreme volatility of the sudden outbreaks and are confident that you can profit from the biotech stocks shortly.
    Did you get the vaccine?
Do you think the word "Vaccine" here qualifies to be the word of the year?

    What happened after FED's meeting?
We are currently having a sector rotation from tech growth stocks into value stocks after Wednesday's Fed policy of 3 rate hikes in 2022 instead of 2 and also speed up tapering and ending it a few months earlier than expected.
The initial taper plan was $10B for treasury securities and $5B for MBS (Mortgage Backed Securities) but now it has doubled the speed of tapering to $20B for treasury securities and $10B for MBS and tapering to end by March 2022. Which shortly after, rate hikes should come in progressively.
The reason for the fed turning hawkish and a quick shift to taper at a quicker pace and more rate hikes was due to inflation at a 40 year high. They also did not expect inflation to rise above 2% in 2021 and kept mentioning about higher inflation rate being transitory. Current inflation is at 6.8% based on the YOY report.
How did this affect the market on Thursday?
When tapering is sped up, liquidity will be tightened in the market. There will not be as much free cash to be pumped into the market to let prices rally like we have seen the last 2 years.
Interest rate hikes will also dampen valuation on growth stocks as growth stocks are priced in more to future earnings expectations. If rates rise, it will hurt those expectations. Investors will start to see bonds and value stocks that thrive in high-interest rate environments a better asset class thus making it more appealing against higher-risk growth stocks.
Small-cap stocks usually also suffer because they tend to loan more money to fund the growth of the company thus making them more sensitive towards the rate hikes.
Thus we saw the $NASDAQ 100 Index(.NDX.US)$ and $iShares Russell 2000 ETF(IWM.US)$ mostly small-cap and tech stocks falling much sharper than $Dow Jones Industrial Average(.DJI.US)$ yesterday which consist mainly of value stocks.
What to do now? Should I exit my growth holdings?
That being said, inflation and rate hikes over the long run still don't pose a huge threat to growth stocks. It is usually short-term when the rotation happens towards value stocks. So take this opportunity to find good entry points into the stocks which are undergoing the selloff.
As always, trade safe & invest wise!

A zero percent interest rate pushed money into the market for a real return. Anywhere else, money is being crushed in value due to inflation.
With no interest rate, debt makes you money at this rate. Added with retail investors dumping money into the market, companies and assets are being propped up with cheap money
Once interest rates go up, companies with high debt are going to be punished since that will cost them money.
Wild, speculative markets like EV are going to be crushed. Companies with no income and high speculative growth will come down. Essentially, fundamentals are going to matter again.

Elon Musk has consistently supported $Dogecoin(DOGE.CC)$ , a meme-inspired cryptocurrency. He's invested in it, along with $Bitcoin(BTC.CC)$ and $Ethereum(ETH.CC)$ .
Musk sees dogecoin as the best cryptocurrency to transact with.
"Fundamentally, bitcoin is not a good substitute for transactional currency,"
Musk told Time Magazine after being named Time's 2021 Person of the Year.
"Even though it was created as a silly joke, dogecoin is better suited for transactions."
The price of Bitcoin soon took a dive after the interview.
Any thought on Musk's word? Will his opinion push you to buy/sell any related cryptocurrency?

This year's inflows into ETFs worldwide crossed the $1 trillion mark for the first time at the end of November, surpassing last year's total of $735.7 billion, according to Morningstar data. That wave of money, along with rising markets, pushed global ETF assets to nearly $9.5 trillion, more than double where the industry stood at the end of 2018.
Most of that money has gone into low-cost U.S. funds that track indexes run by Vanguard Group, $Blackrock(BLK.US)$ and $State Street(STT.US)$ which together control more than three-quarters of all U.S. ETF assets.
Technically they're not the same concept, but the $1 trillion landmarks still remind me of $Tesla(TSLA.US)$ hitting a $1 trillion market cap on Oct.25. It showed how influential the company is.
Are you part of the one trillion? Would you tell me about the reason that you buy or not buy ETF?

Hi, mooers! Welcome back to MooHumor again!
The argument about whether investing should be an art or a science has lasted for quite a long time.
Someone says it's an art. Only the investor with a keen instinct for recognizing good companies can make the most returns.
Someone says it's a science. Analysis based on financial numbers and history is the only path to success.
So which one is more closer to the truth? There's no correct answer. But eventually, they are both aiming for the same purpose. It's all about making the right choices.
Now let's see how mooers use artistic or scientific ways to make better choices.
Pick your side first. You cannot be both.
