Wall Street has a number of things to look forward to this week.
On economic front, investors will receive flash PMI readings from S&P, along with another estimate on US Q4 GDP growth.
On Friday, we have the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge - personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index for February
Meanwhile, not to forget, Fed chair Jerome Powell once again toyed with the word “transitory” by using it to describe any effects on inflation from US Pres...

Wall Street managed to end a four-week losing streak last week as S&P 500 squeezed out a small gain. This came after it ended in correction territory just a week ago.
The rally was mainly driven by a dovish Powell and Trump’s statement that he will retain flexibility in this reciprocal tariffs.
It remains to be seen whether the rally is sustainable.

We had a nice end-of-the-day rally last Friday - likely driven by President Trump’s statement that he would maintain 'flexibility' regarding the reciprocal tariffs.
However, Wall Street’s biggest challenge in recent weeks is that any attempted rally had failed due to the ongoing uncertainty and confusion surrounding Trump’s trade policies.

Last week, the markets were dominated by escalating trade tensions, with tariffs on steel and aluminum imports sparking fears of a global trade war. The European Union retaliated with counter-tariffs on $28 billion worth of U.S. goods, further spooking investors. Meanwhile, concerns over valuations and earnings continued to weigh on the tech sector, with $Adobe (ADBE.US)$ and $Intel (INTC.US)$ making headlines f...

1 day after the Fed-driven rally, the market seems to be struggling a little bit. At this point, major indexes are green, but lack strength.
If we can hold out the day and maintain that small green, then it’s not too bad. The bounce could continue for a while longer before the next retracement.
Side note - tomorrow is Triple Witching Day. Lots of options expiring. So do expect high volatility.

The Fed had decided to maintain the interest rate at current level. The latest dot plot showed that the central bank forecast it would cut interest rates two times in 2025. Both came in line with expectations.
During the press conference, Powell also brushed away talks about stagflation. He further gave some assuring pointers: Labor market conditions are solid, and inflation has moved closer to their 2% longer-run goal.
