commission plays a huge part.
traditional brokerage charges min $25 per transaction. so each lump sum share purchase min $5k makes more sense.
but with platform like moomoo each order for $1+k less than $3 (even lower if u newbie or got free commission coupon), dollar cost averaging make sense especially in this volatile market. also now there are more day traders.
with mmf still offering returns of 3%, u can simply just deposit excess funds in it while waiting for the right price.
