The market will continue to assess the downgrade by Fitch. In the near term, the market can be quite volatile with big movements. VIX is rising rapidly now too. Traders should love this kind of volatility actually.
By the way, the sell-off in tech has seen Nasdaq dropping by more than 2% yesterday - this is actually the worse single day performance since Feb this year.

More than 150 companies will be reporting their earnings this week. What are some of the names that you will be looking at?
So far, we have about 80% of the companies beating expectations. Some may say that because the bar has been set so low, thus it’s easy for companies to surpass expectations.
Well, a beat is a beat I guess?

I would say it has been a good month for the stock market as both S&P500 and Nasdaq are on its way to 5th consecutive positive months.
Additionally, we have seen stocks and industries out of the magnificent 7 joining the rally - that’s good news for the bulls.
If bears still have something to fight for, it’s Aug and Sep that they are looking at as we are about to enter a seasonal bearish period.
But will you want to fight this uptrend? I wouldn’t though, till it’...

Don’t be too eager to trade today. It does not harm to wait for another day.
The Fed’s decision on interest rate hike will be out at 2am, and Powell will speak at 230am.
The investment world wants to know what’s his plan for the rest of the year. Another rate? Pause? Watch and see?
Is the core inflation still very sticky?

With an interest rate hike Wednesday all but a done deal, investors will be looking to guidance from the Federal Reserve on whether this might be the last of this cycle.
The rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee will release its decision at 2 p.m. ET, followed a half-hour later by Chairman Jerome Powell’s news conference.
Traders are pricing in a 100% chance of an increase, but just a 38% probability that the Fed will follow through with ...

Came in softer than expectation. We are getting more and more signs that inflation is falling.
These data are definitely good for the Fed in this inflation war.

The yield curve inversion ratio is nearing 90% now - historically a reliable leading indicator.
Still have yet to see any meaningful tick up on the NBER recession measures as the economy rolls along.
