I never recommend trading short dated far out of the money options. It is very risky and is almost always a losing bet when you are trading just about any ticker. Most of the time there is just not enough liquidity, or buyers and sellers, to make an option contract's price move. Even if you chose the correct direction of price action sometimes there are no buyers or sellers to push the price up.

Some investors may ask, how would you even lose money if you buy puts in a bear market. It is always hard to explain.
So now you have the answer. These 2 days present the kind of rally that can trap the bears and burn the Theta of your Put options.
So yes, bear market can wipe out the bears, and it can also profit the bulls.
In Chinese, this is known as 水能载舟 亦能覆舟
In English, it means the water that bears the boat is the same that swallows it up

I'm kinda new to stocks, but I have some knowledge of what interest rates do to the general economy. I know that higher interest rates basically make money more expensive, leading to lower profits and a more negative outlook on equities because of higher costs. With the 75 basis point increase, I was expecting the stock market to go down, but why was it more green today? Is this the interest rate increase being priced in?

Can you guys explain to me why stocks are up today after the fed increased interest rates? Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t rising interest rates mean less people borrowing money to put into stocks, resulting in stocks going down? Thanks. $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ $Apple (AAPL.US)$ $Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ $Amazon (AMZN.US)$ $Lucid Group (LCID.US)$ $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$

A day after UAL’s earnings sent Airline companies and Cruiseliners ripping, we have AAL’s earnings this morning doing the same thing. Related companies are getting a jump in price as well. I looks as if AAL will met two convalescing resistances. A short term trending resistance and a long term horizontal resistance. All we can do is wait and see. $United Airlines (UAL.US)$ $American Airlines (AAL.US)$ $Southwest Airlines (LUV.US)$ $Delta Air Lines (DAL.US)$ $Spirit Airlines (SAVE.US)$
