Thursday, after a choppy day the stock market finished sharply lower as worries about economic growth, nationwide health conditions and Chinese stocks interference led to a shakeout from lofty levels.
The $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$-0.86% had only its second down day of the last 10 sessions. The $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$-0.75% and $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$-0.72% also slumped.
