The anti-corruption commission is investigating the old cases of the former dynasty, thoroughly investigating the 1BestariNet project launched by the education department 13 years ago. Anti-corruption commission officials recently raided the headquarters of YTL Communications in the capital to assist in the investigation of this government project costing 4 billion ringgit.
YTL Power International Bhd has confirmed that its subsidiary, YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, is being investigated by the anti-corruption commission regarding the 1BestariNet project.
The anti-corruption commission issued a statement today (9th) stating that the investigation is not subject to external interference, and all actions are transparent and professional.
This investigation is based on complaints received, involving accusations of corruption, mismanagement, abuse of power, and violations of the law, including the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
The investigation refers to the report of the Government Finance, Procurement and Administration Investigation Committee (JKSTUPKK) received in August, as well as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report.
These reports reveal problems such as limited broadband coverage, insufficient technological infrastructure, and incomplete campus coverage.
