(Kuala Lumpur, 20th) Genting. $GENTING (3182.MY)$ Genting's wholly-owned subsidiary Genting MZW has signed a cooperation framework agreement with SDIC Power Holdings to jointly develop the 100 MW Aquaculture Complementary Photovoltaic Power Station Phase II project in Dongwucha A District, Putian City, Fujian.
According to the announcement, the two parties have previously cooperated to promote Phase I of the power station (100 MW), which will commence construction in September 2024 and is expected to be put into operation in May 2025. Based on the success of Phase I, both parties have decided to initiate the construction of Phase II.
Phase II will be adjacent to Phase I and share the substation, adopting a model that combines aquaculture and CECEP Solar Energy generation, installing photovoltaic panels on the water surface to achieve synchronized development of clean energy production and ecological aquaculture.
The project is scheduled to start in July 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2026, adding 100 megawatts of clean energy capacity, with an anticipated annual power generation of 0.274 billion kilowatt-hours, which will help Fujian's renewable energy development goals and support China's "dual carbon" strategy.
Genting Group holds a 39% stake in the first and second phase projects, while SDIC Power Holdings holds 61%.
Genting Chairman and CEO Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay stated that the project not only demonstrates the group's expansion in the renewable energy sector but also further strengthens the long-term cooperation relationship with SDIC Power Holdings, which has lasted over 20 years.
Both parties have also previously jointly developed several large-scale electrical utilities projects in China and Indonesia, including the Zhoushan 2×745 megawatt H-class hydrogen fuel...
