From my own knowledge money market fund such as fulleton cash fund is a very low risk product because it invested our money in short term fixed deposit and high grade bond such as government treasury bill. In theory the capital is well protected and the return is tied to the interest rate so you will only receive less interest if the rate is low but will not be zero because interest rate will not become zero. Am I right to say this. Because I have bought money market fund before from Phillip securities. During the 20 years history, the money market fund never have negative return even during ledman brother crisis in 2008 when led man brother bond suffered big losses as much as 50%.
