KL6808 : Personally, I think the problem with BIDU is its venture to too many area where there ain't one that's an unique proposition that can be perceived as a sizeable revenue aspect.
If it were to engage in a thorough business review, close down or sell off some of these businesses and focus on area it can be on par if not better than it's competitors, meanwhile, be mindful of spending, it should be able to deliver better result that will improve its stock performance.

KL6808 : Personally, I believe Seatrium is a worthwhile underlying to be held for a very long time.
It's full potential is yet to be exploited, not even partially yet. Having Temasek as the major shareholder, it ain't the acumen of it as the strength but rather in time of crisis, it can be counted on to inject liquidity when necessary, just like how it helped Singapore Airlines during Covid.

KL6808 : While the analogy about TA being useless and FA has data that everyone is having, it's the subjectivity of individuals that determines the ultimate winner.
Even with the daily news we read, we may interpret them differently. Also, a set of the latest financial data. Eg a PER of 8x to some is low while others might think it's high. Even the formula to calculate the intrinsic value may differ from one to another.
We all learn when we make and lose money. More importantly, don't make the same mistake twice.

KL6808 : As many analysts and houses are revising down their target prices for AMD while keeping the equivalent of Hold or accumulate recommendations, the pressure on its coming earnings reports would have been reduced.
With these lower expectation and if AMD still cannot deliver a set of decent results, then its quite bad. However, Nvidia, Intel and AMD remain the main vendors in their field of CPU, GPU and other chips. It will not be a winner takes all scenario, for fear of antitrust law and sanction.
Only time will tell which one will be a better stock to invest it. Or could it be Broadcom or others?

I was in Shenzhen two weeks ago, it's food delivery business was booming. Reckon most people were not wanting to take the trouble to dine in but got food delivery.

This time he might be right again. His increase in cash holdings is likely led by
1 some of the assets he sold have exceeded their worth and he anticipated their prices are due for a correction
2 the coming recession is not a soft landing, will cause bigger correction and the asset prices will fall then. Buying them after the correction will enhance the returns in the longer term. This does not in conflict with he being a value and long term investor.
