Cheesetopher : The most enlightening moment in my 2024 investment journey was when I learned the importance of diversifying your assets. It all started... long ago... at the beginning of 2024, when I first discovered... the stock market! Lo and behold it was an exciting first few months making small amounts of money from quick trades as soon as the prices went up. Then, I discovered Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), a truly remarkable investment opportunity. It seemed to be the perfect stock, with a large trading volume, and the perfect amount of price volatility to make short-term gains. Putting all of my money into the one basket, however, was not going to end well...
After putting all of my all of my investable money into Treasury Wine Estates the price almost immediately went up. I was so excited!! $100 in the green, $200, then $300, then -$400, -$500, -$600... wait! Yes, unfortunately, I was there to witness the great fall in TWE's stock price from April 5 to May 31. It was truly a nightmarish month. But it taught me something: the power of diversification. Since then, I began focusing my assets around ETFs and I have never looked back. With all of my securities appropriately diversified, I finally achieved a really nice positive return to finish off the year 2024!
My absolute favourite Moomoo feature has got to be Morningstar Ratings. Having Morningstar analysis on almost any stock was really helpful in making informed investment decisions. Especially when looking through potential ETFs to invest into, Morningstar estimates on annual return was really helpful in finding the most profitable ETFs in each sector and industry, making it easy to create a profitable and diversified investment portfolio.

Cheesetopher : Given that lower interest rates may lead to increased individual disposable income, how do you think loosened monetary policy would affect the price of cryptocurrencies?

Cheesetopher : I found the AU papertrading competition to be a really fun way to try out a lot of the more aggressive (high risk / high reward) trading strategies that I'm usually to worried about trying out using real money. I used papertrading, in general, to get the hang of buying the dips in the TWE stock price, which has been really helpful. It's also a cool tool to really get the hang of the trading interface within the moomoo app.
