Moomoo Australia – election 2025
By @Michael McCarthy CEO, @Jessica Amir
Voters and investors who are expecting the 'same old, same old' in the upcoming federal election could be in for a shock. This is likely to be a very different vote. Unlike many recent elections, this one has potential for impact on financial markets. So, over the next few weeks, be alert to potential reaction in stocks and the overall sharemarket.

HK down today but portfolio is still looking good!
$Novonix (NVX.AU)$ and $Energy Transition Minerals Ltd (ETM.AU)$
coming through for me today, on paper and real account so it's a very happy day!!
I've believed in nvx for a number of years. Watching it in downtrend after covid and market crash and sky high interest rates (they had a lot of debts) was disheartening. But I was patient and waited, when it hit .40 I went in a few thousand. It's paying off already an...

Ever since going through the experience of losing 6,000 dollars every day, there has been a significant change in my mindset.
Nothing can really influence my mood or mentality.
This experience is something I have newly felt.
This can also be considered a form of training and a good method for habitually controlling emotions.
Without further ado, let's Share the second post of March.
For those who are in cash positions, feel scared or hesitant to buy Stocks, or are preparing to buy Stocks.
You can take a look at my journey or thoughts regarding Stocks.
Let's take a look at the mindset of university students when they lose or make money.
What can be done to break even or earn more?

I previously mentioned that the Large Cap would pull back for a few days, but I didn't expect so many things to happen at once.
The core reasons I think for the market decline.
The main reason for the decline in the USA stocks is primarily the uncertainty of policies and market concerns about the future economy.
Firstly, the recent announcement of a new round of tariff policies by the USA government has caused a sudden downturn in market sentiment, with investors worried that trade frictions may impact corporate earnings, especially for companies involved in the Global supply chain.
In addition, the pullback in Technology stocks has intensified market panic, as the Technology Sector saw huge gains over the past year, and now valuations are facing pressure, leading investors to take profits, which accelerated the decline in stock prices.
The Australian stock market is significantly impacted by external conditions, given that the Australia's market is relatively small and international capital is highly mobile, thus when global market risk aversion rises, the Australian stock market often adjusts accordingly.
Lastly, the Australian economy relies on resources...

I called this out a while ago, it came to my attention as soon as Trump mentioned Greeland and the Arctic regions being 'full of resources we need' . Didn't take long for people to realise this almost unheard of, tiny asx company was in a position to benefit greatly, even if nothing happens the way trump wants, the hype around it now has given investors a nice little boost 😁

Honestly I don’t understand why they think a rate cut is so important. It’s $93 off a $600,000 mortgage, surely there’s not an overwhelming population of households stretched so thin that $93 switches their vote, or that they’ll attribute that to the government as opposed to the independent RBA?
And 1 rate cut after 11 or 12 rate hikes surely doesn’t solve everything

MooMamaLlama : @swooping magpie, yeah they're the ones who cop the stupid fines.... its compulsory here. I can't say it's wrong though. Non compulsory voting like in the US is never going to give the result the people want, unless they cote. I heard a whopping 30% didn't cote, so Trump won with around 33% of votes....but he'll tell you he had the most votes in history. Hes a delusional oompa loompa

MooMamaLlama : "Another factor is the rise of third parties and independent candidates"
does that mean he's a 'non event' or not worth mentioning? He's a wild card in almost every election, yet never gained real traction. Now he's back, campaigning harder than ever.
this is very true, but I notice Clive Palmer wasn't mentioned
Im not worried about him, in general, Aussies dont look at a billionaire businessmen as real political candidates. They'll only have one priority...as Trump has shown... rich get richer with tax cuts and the general public will foot the bill by paying more for everything
MooMamaLlama : Nice call on our inclination for a 'fair go' . It's true, we do, but that could be our downfall in some cases. Legislations and new policies take a little time to have any effect.
The time wasted debating policies, spending cuts or fund allocations, then the time to put it all in place be it new construction, tech, or legislations, plus the time it takes to have any real positive impact from those changes.... by then it's election time again, and in order to give a new candidate with new policies a 'fair go', we could essentially be destroying any good work done by the previous/current government. Voters feel damned if we do and damned if we don't. It's hard to make immediate, permanent, positive change. For that, I feel for our pollies (ugh) but it's their job. We don't just want to see the changes in 5,10,15yrs... we want to see it now.
MooMamaLlama 151825295 : I support open borders and lawful immigration. We are a multicultural country literally built on the sweat of immigrants if you get to the nitty gritty of it. Aside from First Nations peoples, we are all from ancestors who were convicts, immigrants, or migrants from Britain.
I do, however, support immediate deportation for any immigrant or asylum seekers who commits a crime of any nature involving violence, sexual assault, DV, etc. We are sometimes too tolerant of other cultures when it comes to violence for eg. 'oh that's just how they do things' is too often the excuse. It's not good enough.
MooMamaLlama Swooping Magpie : true, but they're actively finding those not enrolled and putting pressure on them. It works, my daughter didn't enrol but they sent her letters and she felt she'd be in trouble if she didn't. Many fall for that.
It's annoying af but I'd rather have a vote than not. Especially as a woman, we fought hard for that right to have a voice. Feels wrong to not use it
