The U.S. Treasury Department has kept the issuance size of medium and long-term bonds in the quarterly regular auctions the same as the previous quarter. It was widely expected in the market. The department also revealed that it will start a repurchase program of outstanding securities for the first time in about 20 years in May.
According to the announcement on the 1st, the total issuance amount for the 3, 10, and 30-year bonds in the upcoming auctions next week will be $125 billion (approximately 19,720 billion yen).
