The device called "E-Sail", which obtains propulsion by inducing air inside the sail, will be promoted for domestic and international sales. With E-Sail, the induction of air into the interior of the sail creates a smooth flow of wind around the sail, resulting in efficient propulsion from renewable energy.
Marubeni and B4B are also progressing with a project to install e-sails on Marubeni's Panamax bulk carrier owned by its Singapore subsidiary MMSL to verify the reduction effect of GHG. Depending on the weather conditions, they expect to achieve a maximum reduction of 15-20% in GHG emissions.
