On the 10th, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced the approval of 11 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that invest in Bitcoin. This allows institutional and individual investors to invest in Bitcoin without directly owning the asset.
In Japan, it is not yet possible to purchase ETFs as of the 11th. For overseas ETFs, application for registration with the Financial Services Agency (FSA) is required.
