Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com, participated in a funding round of $700 million to evaluate the enterprise value of semiconductor startup TensTorrent at around $2.6 billion (about 390 billion yen). TensTorrent aims to break Nvidia's stronghold in AI semiconductors.
The funding round was led by South Korea's AFW Partners and Samsung Securities, with participation from Bezos' investment company Bezos Expeditions, as well as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Fidelity, and others. Jim Keller, a prominent semiconductor engineer and co-founder of TensTorrent, revealed in an interview.
