Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) drew attention on Friday when City once again expressed its purchase evaluation for memory manufacturers and a target price of $150, citing several conflicting CES data points.
Micron's stock fell 2.3% at the start of trading.
“Demand for personal computers seems to be slightly sluggish, but demand for mobile phones seems to be 'reasonable',” Citi analyst Christopher Danelly wrote in a memo to customers.
“However, while stocks of [dynamic random access memory] in the PC food chain have declined and are close to optimal levels, they are still at a high level in the mobile phone food chain. We continue to believe, based on evidence, that DRAM stocks will normalize by spring, and we expect DRAM price declines to stop in the second quarter of 2025.”
