Risk in $Netflix (NFLX.US)$
The cost for creating new content can be substantial and the outcome is often unknown until the money has been spent and the show broadcasted. To make things worse, NFLX is competing against some of the most deep-pocketed players like $Disney (DIS.US)$ , $AT&T (T.US)$, and $Apple (AAPL.US)$ , each of them can casually invest billions in new content. Nonetheless, I think NFLX has a few competitive edges. It can leverage data mining to better predict and guide content creation.

$Netflix (NFLX.US)$ $Disney (DIS.US)$ $AT&T (T.US)$ $FuboTV (FUBO.US)$ It is uncertain when the streaming business will reach its saturation point (or equilibrium point). As more players offer more content at cheaper prices, it becomes more and more common that a single household subscribes to multiple streaming services (like our own family). So in this sense, the streaming business enjoys excellent price elasticity. I am not certain how far the price elasticity can last.

With all the focus on $Disney (DIS.US)$ + and the growing market of cord-cutters, it seems some investors have forgotten all about Disney's legacy businesses. The company relies heavily on travel, tourism, and consumers' desire for entertainment. While the recovery from the pandemic has come in fits and starts, there should eventually be a full return for the desire to visit theme parks, go on cruises, and enjoy sports and entertainment~~

Applications for U.S. state unemployment benefits declined last week to the lowest level since 1969, illustrating difficulties adjusting the raw data for seasonal effects.
Initial unemployment claims totaled 184,000 in the week ended Dec. 4, down 43,000 from the prior period, Labor Department data showed Thursday. The median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists called for 220,000 applications.

In today’s market, everyone seems bullish on everything. There are certain stocks that people are being told to buy basically regardless of price. What is a stock that you see everyone pushing that you think is a bad investment that will either lose money or greatly underperform the market. Let’s have some interesting discussion.
