Quick reminder, $Amazon (AMZN.US)$ extended the useful life of their servers from 4 to 5 years, and operating margins expanded from 30 to 35%.
$Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ and $Alphabet-A (GOOGL.US)$ both use 4 years, both had recently extended (past 2 years). At some point they will extend to 5 years too and get the margin bump.
