"I continue to view Ford’s EV/ICE split as necessary since it allows $Ford Motor (F.US)$ EV biz to build an entirely separate culture, copies $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ ‘s direct sales model, and recruit top engineering talent by tying incentives to EV rev growth. But it won’t ever be TSLA."

1. More Rational, Less Emotional - you will tend not to be affected by market volatility. This allows you to sleep better at night. Generally, long term investing is less stressful vis-à-vis trading
2. You don’t have to time the market - time in market over timing the market. And staying invested throughout will leverage on compounding interest. A lot of people underestimate the power of it.
3. Save time - when you don’t have to try to time the market, it saves a lot of your time as you don’t need to do research or watch the market movements daily
4. Lesser investment risks - a lot of people also underestimate this portion. Swing / day traders definitely face more risks. But that doesn’t mean their method is wrong/not good - these traders put in lots of time and efforts to manage the risk. Hence kudos to them. Everyone has their own plan and risk appetite, that’s all I can say
5. Be part of the company - by holding stocks over long term means you’re part of the company (in a way). You will grow with the company and join its journey to success (hopefully!)
6. Bonus: Make friends - you can meet like minded people and shout “to the moon” with the fellow long term stock holders :)

$Rivian Automotive (RIVN.US)$ Rivian has disclosed that its factory in Nomore, Illinois, has an annual capacity of 150,000 EVs, and plans to increase that to 200,000 with more investment in the R1 production line. In addition to its factory in Nomore, Illinois, Rivian has also announced that it will build a $5 billion plant near Atlanta with the capacity to produce 400,000 electric cars a year.

Hello Mooers , welcome to our topic on long-term investment.
Today, we are going to try something new . We are going to use our TOPI matrix to decide how to go about with our investment.
The TOPI matrix covers Timeframe, Objectives, Positioning and Investment.
Timeframe [T]
First, we decide if we are going to put our money for short term (1 to 3 years), mid term (3 to 8 years) or long term (more than 8 years), before we harvest to pay for our goals.
Objectives [O] (or Goals)
Next, we need to find out our objectives (or goals) that we wish to achieve. These can be down-payment for a car or birthday gifts for our loved ones (short term goals), buying a new house or going for an oversea tour (mid term goal) or our retirement (long term goal).
Positioning [P] strategies
After setting our objectives, we use different positioning strategies to help us. Positioning strategies includes short term trading (positions that last at most a day), mid term trading (positions that last at most a month), long term trading (positions that last more than a month) and size of position (the amount of money into the investment for each position). We can choose the positioning strategies that we are more comfortable with.
Investment [I]
Lastly, we decide what kind of investment that we are keen & comfortable with. It can be short term investment (e.g. saving accounts, fixed deposit), mid term investment (e.g. bonds, index funds), long term investment (e.g. blue chips stocks), low risk investment (e.g. saving account), mid risk investment (e.g. index funds) and high risk investment (e.g. cryptocurrencies & commodities). It can also be mixture of any of them too.
By using the TOPI matrix, we can customize our investment to suit any duration investment, be it short term, mid term or long term ones, and to achieve the objectives that we set earlier.
Before we end, I would like to share a book, titled 'A Few Lessons for Investors and Managers From Warren Buffett'. It is one of the best book that summarize the essence of Warren Buffett knowledge in 81 pages.

2) moomoo Calendar
Will be useful to have a moomoo desktop calendar marking the holidays in markets that we can trade with moomoo. Will be cute to have different moomoo designs in the calendar
