- Nov marks 1 year since Ant IPO withdrawal in 2020. Won’t be surprised if Ant announces resumption of IPO plans soon.
- 11.11 sales always beat previous year’s total sale. It is the biggest sales event globally by total transaction value.
- strong Q4 2021 together with Christmas sale in Dec 2021 should be translated into next year Q1’s earnings outperformance
- 2022 shall be huge with 3 global sporting events in China:
i. 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou,
ii. 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, and
iii. 2023 AFC Asian Cup (football)
where all Alibaba’s businesses (Cloud, Youku, Cainiao, Eleme, Commerce) should see a boom, if not enhanced reputation + image being China’s leading name in commerce.
We should be seeing a strong buildup in momentum for the next 6 months in my view.
