In an unusual year, the stock market performance has been difficult for global investors. Hit by ongoing geopolitical issues, supply-chain problems, and the highest inflation in 40 years, the $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ has an 18% correction since the beginning of 2022, making it the largest sell-off since 2008. Clearly, the investors are waiting for some signals that should allow them to feel less pessimistic.

$Amazon (AMZN.US)$ Amazon announced a 20-for-1 stock split for the first time since 1999. It is a welcomed move as the share price jumped 6% after trading hours.
Stock splits do not change the value of the company and it is more of a cosmetic move, making it more ‘affordable’ for stock investors and option traders or even for employees to convert their options to shares.

But if you want to pay more for one of mine when they split, disregard what I said 
It doesn't change the value of your position, due to the stock splitting, if you were to own stock in one of the companies that decided to split.
