Simple, competition. $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ was at the right place at the right time, and started up against almost no one. Lucid does not have this luxury, there's other options on the market. Using the "sell the most expensive model first" strategy $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ used might not work here.
Traditional car markers are in the game now, luxury makes like Mercedes and Porsche who likely eat thier cake.
