Singapore Stocks
Pros of investing in SG stocks
1.Currency risk - When we invest in Singapore stock market, we need not have to worry about forex or currency risk as the money used to invest is in SGD. Let me paint a simple example. If you invest in the US stock market, and your gain is 10%, but if SGD appreciates against USD, then your actual gain may not be 10%.
Just to share, back in 2003, 1 USD was able to give you $1.71 SGD, but as of today, 1 USD can only fetch you...

Biden recently kicked off his reelection campaign. The White House has been touting that the president's policies have kept the economy on a steady path and maintained a healthy labor market.
The term “Bidenomics” was originally created by Republicans as a pejorative term, but the campaign is hoping to reclaim the word and use it to describe the administration's success.

last year Meta Materials saw its revenue grow by 150%. That's well above most other pre-profit companies. So the hefty 84% share price crash makes us think the company has somehow offended market participants. Something weird is definitely impacting the stock price; we'd venture the company has destroyed value somehow. We'd recommend taking a very close look at the stock (and any available forecasts), before con...

I haven't been getting posts out on a daily basis. Lately I have been much too tired. This week has some big events starting Wednesday and then again on Thursday with CPI and PPI. I made a post over the summer where i predicted this moment. The moment where the FED and pundits claim a victory over inflation. I said they will say "see inflation is coming down, and see how much better it is"...

htxjoe Mr Pistachio : Chinese stocks are very safe. I, however, sold all of my Chinese stock because I don’t approve of actions their communist government is doing, and I can foresee a future where the US is passing sanctions on China after they join Russia’s side on WWIII. So while there are some very profitable opportunities in the Chinese market my loyalty, even though I don’t agree with my government most of the time, I’m American first, my loyalty makes me seek American companies first - and there’s a lot of them. I’ve had good luck with some Brazilian stocks too - it seems to be a strong emerging economy.
htxjoe v_violentine : Lol, absolutely it can be! Especially in recent times where stocks are more likely to go down than up. While I don’t hate on anybody for earning a living, I personally don’t like shorting, not because it doesn’t make money because it does, but for me it just feels dirty to make money from betting on stocks to go down. For me the better choice is buying a put or selling a call if you think a stock is going down, but I still prefer to reward successful companies by investing in their stock vs punishing bad investors for betting on the wrong stock. Strictly personal preference, though, plenty of money can be made using either strategy.
