Nice to see you all again! Welcome back to Talk to PM, where share your thoughts with product managers~
Just a quick question!
Part I: Recap of the lovely moomoo PM stories
We interviewed five moomoo PMs this season to talk about themselves and their products. Do you like them? Did you ask them any questions? Please feel free to leave your comments below!
We had PM George. He is passionate about user-friendly features and strives to deliver the best services to our mooers. His personal experiences made him to understand the underlying needs of mooers better.
We had PM Jane. She constantly optimizes the features as if she is polishing diamonds.
PM Jason believed that “Art comes from life, so does a great product.” The secret of developing an excellent product is to capture the small changes in our daily lives. Our competitiveness lies in the pursuit of innovation.
We had our "Leopard," PM Arlene. She is a highly efficient PM who pursues the ultimate user experience and quickly responds to the request of others.
Last but not least, we had PM Ivy, who claimed herself as the "guardian" of Moo. She loves freedom and advocates that all mooers are free to talk, share, and connect in our community. We will always be there for each other, and together we are one.
If you want to talk to our PMs, you will find them in the "Talk to PM" zone (under the "Moo Features"). Don't hesitate to share your opinions and new ideas with us!

being new to the investment and trade world, I looked at several websites and settled here because I noticed an old statement woven into the workings. I see a lot of support in all aspects between everyone here. and it's definitely a for the people by the people vibe. and I find there's no better situation to immerse yourself in to learn properly. so my name is Steve and I thank you all in advance for everything you put in to this venture and my education so to speak, that I'm very much looking forward to!!!

The U.S. Labor Department said Friday that its consumer price index in November from a year earlier, the biggest increase in almost 40 years. In the decade before the pandemic, the average increase was a bit less than 2%. The main concern about faster inflation is that it will erode consumers' purchasing power, forcing them to deplete savings as they spend more for the same goods and services.
Americans, though, appear positioned well to withstand the inflationary fallout until the economy works through the issues — mainly Covid-19 and the resulting — that are behind the jump in consumer prices. The Federal Reserve said this week that U.S. household since the start of the pandemic to a record $144.7 trillion. That's a whopping 31% increase over the six quarters ended Sept. 30. The all-time high for any calendar year before 2020 was $12.5 trillion in 2019.
DataTrek Research Inc. posed a very interesting question this week: If inflation is so bad, why aren't more Americans searching for more affordable options?
They analyzed Google and found that searches for "cheap" and "coupon" have not risen in 2021 and are even below any recent year. Perhaps even more amazing, they found that search volumes for "discount" are near five-year lows "just when they should be climbing because of holiday shopping and inflation.”
Here's what they concluded. Mooers, are you in one of them? Come and vote now!
Conclusion 1: Your wage is rising and it's enough to keep you from worrying too much about inflation when it comes to actual purchase decisions.
Conclusion 2: You have become adept at finding low prices without using common words like "cheap", "coupon" and "discount" in their Google searches.
Conclusion 3: You think inflation won't last long and are reluctant to change their buying patterns just to save a few dollars.
Conclusion 4: You are more interested in finding what they want in an environment of persistent shortages rather than in focusing on the cheapest items, which may well be out of stock anyway.
Other answers? Comment here and let us know.

Welcome back Mooers
In this post, we are going to use the SI feature to create our SI Portfolio, by following our 'Clone an SI portfolio in 8 simple steps'.
Here we go!
Step 1. Identify the number of stocks that we are willing to trade.
We will need to know what is the number of stocks that we are comfortable trading with. This number should be in a range between 5 to 35 and should be flexible for later fine-tune if required.
Step 2. Identify the list of favorite stocks that we can afford to trade with.
Besides knowing the number of stocks that we are comfortable trading with, we can also list down our favorite stocks that we can afford to trade should we buy them all. The number of favorite stocks should be in a range between 25% to 75% of the total number of stocks we had identified in step 1.
Step 3. Identify the budget that we are going to spend on our portfolio.
Next, we will need to know how much money we are comfortable to invest in our SI portfolio. This amount should be flexible enough to be tweaked at a later time if required.
Step 4. Look thru the SI we are familiar with listed in the SI feature.
Now, we will scan thru the SI list to select those SI that we are familiar with, and try to match the SI top X number of stocks with our preferences set in the first 3 steps.
Step 5. Check if SI have at least 8 consecutive years of quarterly 13F filings.
As a precaution, we would want our SI to have at least 8 consecutive years of quarterly 13F filings. This helps to let us know that the SI is committed and shown a certain degree of portfolio resilient during stock market volatility.
Step 6. Look out for any restatements (for both buys and sells) issued by SI.
Restatements may contain strategic & valuable information that is associated with significant abnormal returns. This was described in a 2021 interuniversity research report done by Sean Cao, Zhi Da, Xin Daniel Jiang and Baozhong Yang.
Step 7. Using our magic formula.
The magic formula to find out the maximum number of each stock that we can buy for our SI portfolio is:
[ (Stock weightage in SI portfolio / Total weightage of trimmed SI portfolio) x our budget (Step 3) ] / current Stock price.
Each result will be round down to the nearest integer.
Step 8. Begin our cloning via trading.
Finally, we can place our trading to make a similar clone of the SI portfolio to form our SI Portfolio.
Before we end this post, please vote if you wish to have an example to illustrate the above steps.
Remember to show your support and thank you very much.

Don't worry, scroll down to get more details with us!
