According to CNBC: Tesla and Neoen will retest the "Victorian Big Battery".
It is reported that the goal of the "Big Victoria Battery" project is to achieve 50% of Victoria's electricity from renewable energy sources by 2030. At the end of 2020, in a competitive bidding initiated by the Victorian government, renewable energy giant Neoen signed a 250MW grid service contract with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), with the contract period until 2032.
In the "Big Battery" project, Neoen will work with Tesla to install the Megapack system. The project will enable the Victoria to New South Wales liaison line to release 250MW of peak capacity in the summer of the next ten years. In addition, the battery will participate in Australia’s National Electricity Market and support the popularization of renewable energy in Victoria through network services such as rapid frequency control.
