This week, @moo_live will broadcast the earnings conference call of the world's largest video game retailer $GameStop (GME.US)$.
Schedule:
GameStop: Mar. 23, 2021 17:00 EST / Mar. 24, 2021 05:00 SGT
Earnings Preview
$GameStop (GME.US)$ is about to release its first earnings report since the "Reddit rally" stock frenzy. Wall Street expects the retailer to report its strongest quarterly revenue and profit in two years, thanks to a strong winter holiday season that included the release of next-generation, highly sought-after game consoles from Microsoft and Sony. Although the gaming industry has thrived during the pandemic, GameStop struggled as the health crisis hammered foot traffic in its stores. $Castor Maritime (CTRM.US)$ Please understand how much is at stake here. These are the current short statistics (2/22/21) from ortex.
1) 100% short shares are being utilized. 100%...meaning ALL shares capable of being shorted are actively being shorted.
2) The current cost to borrow these short shares is 22.81%. Imagine having to pay over 22% on any debt you owe. That is very substantial considering the shares on loan are currently 61.58 Million!!!
3) This seems to have the potential to be squeezed, hard!
4) I am NOT a financial advisor but I do have 167,000 shares and I’m holding long because of the vessel acquisitions, increased dry-bulk shipping rates, and global Covid recovery.
This is bullish even without the squeeze potential. And all the shorts desperately want us to sell (because they are losing lots of money). Look at seeking alpha writing 2 separate articles trying to convince retail shareholders to sell their positions. I smell fear and see blood in the water....
