Others were even bigger, yet cryptic

one year took big profits in early part of year. reinvested but then had significant paper losses for the year. reluctant to realize the losses so didn’t sell losers to offset the earlier profits. so had a big tax bill on the realized profits AND still had losing portfolio.
lesson learned. year end tax loss selling should be on year end task list
