August has been a turbulent month for stocks, having relinquished over a quarter of the S&P 500's impressive gains this year. The market has been on a downward trajectory for the past two weeks, with value and defensive stocks performing relatively better than their peers. This is following a massive rally that has produced very nice gains for investors. Are investors taking a little profit after the rally? Or is this selloff just the beginning of more to come?
Feel free to leave a comment about why you think the market has been selling off for the past two weeks...

Last week, Cici explained how to identify a bullish trend by using the "Golden Cross."
Today, let's discuss an opposite concept called the "Death Cross," which may be a potential sell signal.
To put it simply, the death cross appears on a chart when a short-term moving average (e.g. MA20) crosses below a long-term moving average (e.g. MA60). This may represent a strong short-term downward momentum and a bearish movement for stock prices.
