72398975 : well it will be a dilemma, the U.S. has always been a net importer and consumer, if the U.S. want to become a manufacturer powerhouse like China , then the U.S. dollar need to be weakened before anyone in the global want to purchase u.s. goods.. this is fundamental why is there is a trade deficit, it wasn't just created because other countries have tariff on the U.S. goods, it is fundamentally how U.S. policy to save the dollars since the Nixon era.  so u.s. can't have both, a strong dollars and strong export.  in addition weaponization of dollars and I.s. monetary policy doesn't help to anything of equal playing field. this is why other countries think U.S. is the bully . the image of the U.S. is eroding, especially there are alternatives available, I believe doing strongman tactic will not cause other countries to fear the U.S. instead of push back. trump is probably going to fold in the end, because his main objective is to deal with domestic problem, this tariffs war is not what he is really after.

72398975 : trump idea is to have fed lower the rate , as trump is trying to lower the commodity prices such as oil and agriculture products. if this is his idea of forcing fed to comply why tariff ? I guess he wants a global recession so there are a bunch of cheap assets in Europe Canada and mexico they could go in and scoop up. this might be good for the long waited cash holders. 72398975 10baggerbamm OP : I understand that trump is the chosen one who escaped death. a strong man approach under this current circumstances and economic conditions might be a gamble, trump is pushing it way too hard it might be much needed  epinephrine or the last straw that breaks the camel back. it all depends on if European, Canada Mexico,and China if they will allies together or not. if those countries still suddenly decided to allied then trump is fucked. if they still fighting among themself then trump might be on to something, he might even take over Canada as promised.

U.S. politicians should long realize that they keep holding the hedgemony is be the ultimate downfall for this country. for history gambler always lose, look at German, Japan, Napoleon. when it is the time to descend from the throne , the u.s. should do it graceful. The U.S. industrial bases are in a state of vacuum, high tech and chip is the best thing politicians could rely on in their hands. The U.S. probably should change its policy and cooperate with China and abide its time to rise again. China has experienced this rise and fall throughout its 5000 years of history. it has been patiently telling the U.S. stop gambling with what is inevitable. there is a system structural problem that the U.S. has which requires a fall before it could rise again. you could also look at the circumstances of the U.S. as entropy, I am sure there is a lot of smart people in the think tank I advice trump, but I believe those people have lost their voice due to populism. This might not be good for the U.S. which are going into the Mao era. disaster happens.
