SLOBB : There are a few ways to look at it. You always want to buy at a “low” price if possible. If you are just buying shares on one day it doesn’t really matter that much. AMC has been beaten down over the last two weeks and if you believe that this is a short squeeze play (I do) then buying at any price under $700 (previous all time high) is a good time to buy. You can use some simple chart analysis to determine if it’s a beneficial time to buy at that point though. VWAP is a volume weighted average so buying when the price is below it is usually better than when it’s above it. RSI can tell you when a stock is over bought or over sold, numbers under 30 are usually a buy signal and over 70 are a sell signal. There is no sure thing so most day traders us a combination of these indicators as well as trends in the previous charts (using 1 minute, 3 minute, 5 minute, & daily candles) to decide when to enter and exit a play. Buying and holding shares is much less a timing strategy than it is an accumulation strategy so you can buy your $500 worth whenever you feel like it’s at a good value for that specific time. Using limit orders makes sure you pay a specific price of your choosing and a market order will fill your purchase immediately at the current value within the price spread. Think of limit orders as a guaranteed price but slower to fill and market orders as a variable price but almost immediate. Good luck and don’t worry about all the negative assholes in the chat. AMC is a very volatile and high risk investment so make sure you understand what you are buying and why.

The only important numbers are SI, CTB, FTDs, & shares on loan. Nobody is selling and they are just digging the hole deeper. If their choice is liquidation or more synthetic shorts…they’ll pick more synthetics every time. It’s just a matter of time before something breaks and margin calls finally come.
