The lab’s AI roots stretch back to 1979 with the Oak Ridge Applied Artificial Intelligence Project. Modern AI took off at ORNL with the rise of graphics processing units (GPUs) —hardware created to speed up computer graphics but later harnessed for scientific computing and machine learning. In 2012, ORNL introduced the Titan supercomputer, which is among the world’s fastest. It was succeeded by two top-ranked supercomputers, Summit and Frontier, powered by GPUs. Frontier, the first exascale system, can complete more than a quintillion calculations per second — an almost unimaginable speed.

Space Dust Ultratech : I've been exposed to ai longer than most here have been alive. it's quite sad really to see the masses of sheep act as if their knowledge on the subject spans decades.

internally, amongst the equipment repair people for military equipment. And those that do internal testing, determining what to purchase. Nvidia has a big overheating problem and fragility when dropped.. related to the heat buildup no doubt.
if a 10,000 sq ft data center is small and cute, but the COOLING requires   for energy.
a 20,000 sq ft  data center would be BETTER if the equipment didn't require so much energy for cooling.
AND, that larger equipment was also cheaper.. and more DURABLE...

Space Dust : I could highlight a valid contrarian view in each color outlined point you defend. Me, I would love to buy Nvidia and .. But, the following glaring things need addressed
1. Jensen knowledge and involvement with the stolen knowledge Jams Zhang took to MT. including the CUDA ( Musa). this is in reference to STOLEN TECHNOLOGY..
2. Overheating is a bigger Nvidia specific problem than admitted.
3. How many warehouses of GPU's collecting dust to inflate the prices. Too many hedge fund GHOULS have their slimy mitts on Nvidia.
And , the product placement in THE BIG BANG THEORY TV series worked MASSIVELY well, didnt it?
